Business Development and Technical Sales Manager
Making a solution known is not enough: it has to reach the right place at the right time. You strengthen Ramo's presence with specifiers, clients and partners, then carry opportunities through to signature. Core portfolio: fences and noise barriers.
Ramo in a few words
Ramo is an integrated Quebec company that develops nature-based products and solutions, mainly from willow. Our activities range from growing plants to deploying phyto-solutions and manufacturing biosourced products, including our woven willow fences and noise barriers.
Our work sits at the crossroads of environment, construction, engineering and land-use planning. Our company culture is built on trust, autonomy, proximity and team spirit.
Ramo is growing and wants to further structure its commercial development. We are looking for someone who enjoys building an approach as much as carrying it out in the field.
The role
Making a solution known is not enough. It has to reach the right place at the right time.
Our solutions are built into projects whose design often begins months before construction. We are looking for someone able to strengthen our presence with specifiers, clients and partners, then carry opportunities through to signature.
What you will do
- Structure and implement a strategic business development approach, from prospecting to contract signature, targeting priority markets, specifiers and high-potential opportunities
- Prospect actively, identify and qualify new opportunities, then advance relationships and projects already under way
- Build lasting relationships with acousticians, architects, engineers, municipalities, developers, contractors and project owners
- Raise awareness of Ramo's solutions and position them early in projects so they are considered, recommended and written into plans, specifications and calls for tenders
- Represent Ramo at events, conferences, industry meetings and client visits
- Establish initial budget estimates, then work with the project team to validate concepts, estimates, timelines and feasibility
- Write, assemble, present and negotiate commercial proposals, then carry opportunities through to contract signature
- Ensure a clear handover of sold projects and maintain the commercial relationship
- Keep the CRM up to date, share market intelligence and help improve business development processes, tools and methods
The Screens line, our fences and noise barriers, will be your core portfolio. To get a feel for the projects, see the Boucherville noise barrier or the Saint-Constant fences. Your expertise may also support other Ramo solutions, notably Evaplant® and Evacap™. You will work with a varied clientele of private, municipal and institutional organizations.
You will report to the Director, Biosourced Products. As Ramo grows, the position may join a centralized sales team and help shape practices across the company.
What will help you succeed
Ideally, you bring:
- At least five years of experience in business development and technical solution sales
- A good understanding of complex, sometimes long sales cycles that require specification work early in projects
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, municipalities or a comparable technical environment
- A structured, strategic approach, with the ability to build relationships, follow up rigorously and close a sale
- Enough curiosity to understand technical issues and discuss them credibly
- A genuine interest in the field, prospecting and in-person meetings
- Autonomy, method and a strong collaborative reflex
No specific degree is required; any relevant combination of training and experience will be considered. Fluency in French is essential and functional English is necessary.
A role between the field and the office
Your main workplace will be Ramo's head office in Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan. Regular presence there matters to understand the products, know the operations and work closely with the teams.
The position also involves frequent travel to meet clients and specifiers, visit sites and represent Ramo.
The role carries no direct line authority. Your influence will rest mainly on your ability to mobilize the right people and move opportunities forward.
What we offer
- Competitive compensation based on your experience
- Broad autonomy and direct access to decision-makers
- Flexible hours and partial remote work when the job allows
- Generous vacation and full group insurance, including dental care
- Reimbursement of travel expenses
- Training and professional development opportunities
- A collaborative environment and concrete, visible, meaningful projects
