About

20 years putting willow to work
for the environment.

Founded in 2006 in Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan, Ramo has become a North American benchmark in willow-based nature-based solutions. From nursery to worksite, we design and deploy vegetated solutions that restore, protect, and bring value to landscapes across North America.

A unique multidisciplinary team

Engineers, agronomists, field technicians, operators, and administrative staff. Our team combines complementary expertise to design and deploy the best vegetated solutions.

Every member of the team shares the same conviction: nature has the best solutions to protect the environment. This shared passion drives us to innovate and push the boundaries of phytotechnology.

20 years of willows, trials and fieldwork

2006
The first willows, the first steps
Francis Allard, trained in engineering, plants his first willows on the family farm in Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan. The original ambition: producing local energy biomass from willow.
2008
The shift toward water treatment
The financial crisis closes the energy biomass market. Ramo pivots: a first municipal wastewater treatment project using willows, the origin of the Evaplant® and Evacap™ technologies.
2011
The birth of green screens
An exclusive licence from Danish manufacturer Pilebyg®: Ramo now produces woven willow screens, a natural alternative to conventional noise barriers and fences.
2021
Ramo Group is born
Our historic divisions (nursery, phytotechnologies, green screens) come together under one unified governance: Groupe Ramo officially takes shape.
2023
Pan-Canadian expansion
Acquisition of Bionera Resources: Ramo adds 15 million willows planted since 2009 in Western Canada, deploying its solutions from coast to coast.
2026
20 years of innovation and real-world solutions
Two decades of transforming sites, landfills, mining areas, and industrial zones with willow. And every reason to keep going.
