Context
A residential area of Saint-Constant, bordered by a bike path and a traffic lane, faced a challenge of privacy and direct exposure to public uses.
The homes opened directly onto:
- the bike path
- adjacent traffic
- public spaces
An intervention was needed to structure the boundary between private and public spaces, without introducing rigid or visually intrusive infrastructure.
The solution implemented
Ramo designed and installed a series of woven willow fences along the bike path, over a length of roughly 800 metres.
The system relies on:
- woven willow panels
- a load-bearing structure adapted to urban conditions
- a natural finish that allows for landscape integration
The fences create a continuous barrier between the homes and public spaces, while maintaining an open, green reading of the site.
Results and performance
Establishment of a continuous separation enabling:
- protection of residents' privacy
- reduced direct exposure to public uses
- clear structuring of the boundary between spaces
The project acts as a functional interface between residential space and active infrastructure.
