Ramo acquires Bionera Resources and welcomes John Lavery

Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan, November 27, 2023. Ramo officially announces the acquisition of Bionera Resources and welcomes John Lavery as CEO of our new Western division.

The acquisition of Bionera enables Ramo to become a national provider of environmental solutions for the management and valorization of wastewater and fertilizing residual materials (FRM) in Canada. In welcoming John Lavery, we welcome an innovative and respected leader in residuals management and carbon sequestration.

Ramo acquires Bionera Resources

Ramo acquired Bionera Resources from Pacific Regeneration Technologies Inc. This transaction reinforces our position as the leading Canadian provider of sustainable solutions using short-rotation willow crops. Bionera Resources is currently transitioning to become an integral part of Ramo and will take on the Ramo name.

Bionera Resources brings its expertise in large-scale willow development, with 15 million willows planted in Western Canada since 2009. This acquisition unifies willow development nationally under a single team, advancing our patent-pending recovery systems and our biosolids-management and leachate-volume-reduction technologies, as well as the commercialization of wood-fibre products.

Ramo introduces John Lavery: CEO of the Ramo West Division

Ramo welcomes John Lavery as CEO of Ramo's Western Division. John is highly respected for his expertise in residuals management, willow development and innovation in turning waste into resources. He will support residuals management from coast to coast and lead the Western development of our key technologies, including our Evaplant® effluent- and landfill-leachate volume-reduction technology, our bio-based noise barriers, and our innovations in wood fibre and its recovery. Ecosystem restoration and climate change mitigation remain central to John and to Ramo's Western team.

Together, these two announcements represent major growth for Ramo as we build on our leadership position in nature-based solutions and circular economies across North America. The Ramo team looks forward to a sustainable, circular future full of opportunity for our clients.
