Ramo is the largest willow production company in North America. We manage over 1,000 hectares of plantations across Canada and the United States on various production sites. In 2024, we will establish more than 500 hectares of new plantations, and we need qualified people to take on this challenge.<\/p>\n

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Director of Agricultural Operations to manage and synchronize our willow planting, maintenance, and harvesting teams. The ideal candidate will coordinate material resources, ensure adherence to budgets and schedules, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our operational processes.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/p>\n

  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Operations,<\/li>\n
  • Synchronize the activities of the planting, maintenance, and harvesting teams to ensure consistent and efficient management of agricultural operations.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate the use of material resources, ensuring optimal allocation to support all agricultural activities.<\/li>\n
  • Lead and advise employees involved in the management and execution of agricultural operations.<\/li>\n
  • Implement an environment and procedures focused on efficiency, health, and safety.<\/li>\n
  • Plan, monitor, and manage operational budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits while maximizing efficiency.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure project schedules are met by identifying and resolving issues that could cause delays.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with our various project managers and our plant production nursery.<\/li>\n
  • Stay informed about new agricultural practices and technologies and integrate them into agricultural operations.<\/li>\n
  • Promote and apply sustainable agriculture and environmental management practices across all operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications:<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

      \n
    • Degree in Agronomy or College Diploma in Agricultural Business Management and Technology (GTEA) or a related field, with a solid understanding of sustainable agriculture.<\/li>\n
    • 10 years or more of experience.<\/li>\n
    • At least 5 years of experience in a management position.<\/li>\n
    • Significant experience in managing agricultural operations, preferably with expertise in commercial crop production.<\/li>\n
    • Advanced technical skills to accurately diagnose and evaluate the work required on our various projects.<\/li>\n
    • Proven skills in project management, budget management, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams toward achieving objectives.<\/li>\n
    • Bilingual (French and English); Spanish is an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
